Status of Layered Release

Structures deposited on or after January 27, 1999 will be completely processed by Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics (RCSB) before they are released. Depositions should continue to be made using AutoDep. For these structures, LAYER-1 files will not be made available. In normal cases, the RCSB will release final files within one week of their receipt or immediately following their removal from Hold Status.

Structures deposited prior to January 27, 1999 will be processed and released according to the Layered Release Protocol previously described in the PDB Newsletters of October 1997, January 1998, and April 1998. BNL will be responsible for the completion of the processing of all files received up to that point.

Updates will continue to be loaded onto the PDB server once a week.
